The 340B Drug Discount Program: New Developments and Increasing Scrutiny
The expansion of the number of entities eligible to participate in the 340B Drug Discount Program under the Affordable Care Act was welcomed with open arms by health care providers. However, this expansion along with other areas of 340B Program expansion, including contract pharmacy participation, has resulted in substantially heightened 340B Program scrutiny. This scrutiny is coming not only from HRSA but from Senators, Representatives and pharmaceutical manufacturers. This presentation will address the implication of increasing 340B Program visibility and audit activity, their implication for day-to-day operations and future 340B Program challenges.
