HHS Provider Relief Fund: Compliance and Audit Strategies

Event: 106th Annual Meeting and Education Summit

[06/08/2021]

Synopsis:

The Provider Relief Fund created by the CARES Act included billions of dollars to reimburse eligible health care providers for expenses and lost revenues attributable to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the majority of the Provider Relief Fund distributed, providers are turning their attention to upcoming reporting requirements and future HHS and financial audits. This presentation will provide an overview of the provider relief fund, review the recent legislative “fixes” for calculating lost revenue and allocating funds within a health system, discuss best practices and strategies for preparing for upcoming reporting obligations and describe future audit requirements.
