Hall Render Advisory Services (“HRAS”), the consulting arm of Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman, is pleased to announce Ken Zeko, Angela Deneweth, Delena Howard and John Marshall have joined the company.
HRAS’s team of consultants assists health care organizations with a variety of strategic and educational initiatives, including Medicare Reclassification Consulting, Health Care System Structure Consulting, Information Technology Consulting, Compliance Consulting, and Real Estate Consulting. Ken Zeko serves as Principal Advisor in the Compliance service area while John Marshall serves as Principal Advisor in the Real Estate Consulting service area. Supporting the Compliance service area, Angela Deneweth and Delena Howard bring more than three decades of dedicated coding compliance experience.
An Attorney Consultant with more than 25 years of regulatory compliance experience, Ken’s national practice consists of assisting clients with compliance program assessments, risk assessments, investigations, coding compliance engagements, self-disclosures, physician arrangements reviews, Independent Review Organization (IRO) engagements and Corporate Integrity Agreement-related (CIA) engagements. Ken has performed over 70 compliance program assessments and has managed hundreds of coding compliance engagements for a wide variety of health care organizations. Ken and his team work with external counsel, in-house counsel, compliance departments, revenue cycle management and internal audit departments to investigate, identify and mitigate False Claims Act, Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute risks. Ken and his team create and conduct risk-based auditing and monitoring plans for health care entities across the country.
With over a decade of health care experience, Angela Deneweth serves as an advisor with Hall Render Advisory Services’ Coding Compliance service line. Angela assists her clients, as they navigate the constantly changing rules of coding, billing and documentation. Angela’s practice consists of assisting clients with coding, internal audit, revenue cycle and consulting engagements. She has also led teams for successful projects on policy and procedure development and EMR training and implementation.
Delena Howard serves as an advisor with Hall Render’s Coding Compliance service line. With more than 25 years of experience in health care documentation and revenue cycles, Delena possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies of health care coding compliance and documentation. Delena regularly performs coding, billing and revenue cycle reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance for clients. Working with hospital systems and physician practices of all sizes, these reviews have included evaluation and management, inpatient and outpatient ambulatory services. Additionally, Delena has worked on Corporate Integrity Agreements and self-disclosure projects, as well as performing as an expert witness in criminal fraud defense.
Prior to joining Hall Render, Ken, Angela and Delena worked for Crowe, a public accounting, consulting and technology firm with offices worldwide, providing a variety of compliance and coding services.
With more than 23 years of experience in commercial real estate, John Marshall serves as a Principal Advisor with Hall Render Advisory Services. Serving a wide range of hospitals and health systems, John has more than 17 years of experience dedicated to health care real estate. Acting as a trusted and objective advisor, John helps his clients navigate real estate-specific engagements within their daily operations. He assists clients with both strategic real estate matters and the execution of real estate transactions. Identifying proactive, strategic solutions, John is able to advise clients on a range of real estate projects from planning through development. John joins Hall Render from NexCore Group, one of the nation’s top health care real estate developing groups, where he served as Senior Vice President of Business Development.
