Hall Render is pleased to announce Brandon Helms has joined the firm in its Detroit office.
Brandon Helms brings a wealth of knowledge to his position as a shareholder in Hall Render’s health regulatory section. With more than 15 years of experience between government and private practice, Brandon offers a unique perspective to his clients, particularly in the complex and highly regulated field of health care law. As a former federal prosecutor and first-chair trial lawyer, Brandon is adept at litigating in court and leading a team of investigators. He routinely assists clients in conducting internal investigations, drafting self-disclosures, responding to subpoenas or civil investigative demands and defending against federal investigations and litigations.
Prior to joining Hall Render, Brandon served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (civil and criminal) in the Eastern District of Michigan for eight years. During his tenure as an AUSA, Brandon conducted numerous grand jury investigations and civil False Claims Act investigations, focusing on health care fraud and white-collar crime. He successfully prosecuted or settled numerous investigations involving the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law and other false claims submitted to Medicare.
Brandon is admitted to practice in Michigan and Illinois and is a member of the American Health Law Association, Federal Bar Association – Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, the Richard Linn American Inn of Court and the Michigan IP Inn of Court.
