About Brett
Brett Travers is a shareholder who combines sophisticated commercial real estate counsel with firsthand experience as a senior living executive. He advises owners, operators, developers, investors, lenders and closely held businesses on transactions and strategic matters, with particular depth across the senior living investment lifecycle.
Before returning to private practice, Brett served as General Counsel and a member of the executive leadership team of a senior living developer, builder, owner and operator. During his tenure, the organization grew from eight communities in three states to more than fifty communities across eight states. That experience enables him to evaluate legal risk in the context of investment performance, financing, growth and day-to-day operations.
Brett represents clients in acquisitions and dispositions ranging from individual assets to multi-site portfolios, as well as development, construction and acquisition financing, refinancings, joint ventures and ownership restructurings. He also negotiates leases, management agreements and other operational arrangements that influence asset value and long-term performance.
In mergers, acquisitions, private equity transactions and other business combinations, Brett serves as real estate counsel to buyers, sellers and corporate deal teams. He identifies and resolves title, survey, zoning, leasing, environmental, financing and transfer issues before they erode valuation or delay closing.
Within senior living, Brett advises owners, operators, developers, investors and lenders on transactions and strategic initiatives involving independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing facilities. Clients also engage him as outside general counsel for practical advice that aligns legal strategy with operational and financial objectives.
