About Colleen

Colleen Powers provides advice and counsel to some of our country's largest health systems, physician group practices and health care management organizations. She regularly counsels clients on a national basis regarding a variety of health care issues, including mergers and acquisitions, health care reform, fraud and abuse and regulatory and corporate compliance. She has been named in the Indiana Super Lawyers Rising Stars for several years and listed in the "Top Healthcare Transaction Lawyers " by the Ambulatory M&A Advisor.

Representative Transactions Experience

  • Lead counsel for an ophthalmology group practice in sale to a private equity-backed enterprise. Granted the owners an interest in the buyer’s MSO and buyers employed all providers.
  • Lead counsel representing a regional, non-profit network of community and specialty hospitals in the acquisition of a radiology group practice’s assets, ARs and employment of roughly 65 physicians.
  • Lead counsel for a large regional health system in their purchase of a minority interest in a physician-owned integrated health system in Puerto Rico.
  • Lead counsel representing a regional health system in a joint venture to operate state of the art PACE Program facility.
  • Lead counsel to a large non-profit regional health system in the acquisition of a 480-bed hospital and related care sites including medical office buildings, ASCs, outpatient care sites and a medical group.
  • Lead counsel to a large non-profit regional health system in a membership interest purchase transaction, acquiring the remaining ownership interest in a small regional hospital from its joint venture partner.
  • Lead counsel to a physician group in the stock purchase and contribution arrangement, selling a large obstetrics and gynecology group to a private-equity backed buyer, developing a platform group.
  • Lead counsel to a private-equity backed dental MSO representing 25 independent dental practices in their collective sale to private-equity.
