About Dougie
Dougie Barnard focuses his legal practice on health care transaction-related matters. Dougie assists a broad array of clients, comprising hospitals, hospital foundations, physician groups, health systems and other nonprofit organizations, by providing counsel on:
- Commercial leases and other space arrangements, including those subject to health care regulatory constraints;
- Development projects, including the construction of medical office buildings and hospitals; and
- Purchase and sale transactions and financing arrangements, with an emphasis on ground-up construction and portfolio transactions.
Prior to joining Hall Render, Dougie counseled real estate developers and investors on matters relating to the acquisition, disposition and development of multifamily properties and medical office buildings. Additionally, he counseled funds through public and private offerings and advised clients on corporate governance matters at an AmLaw 50 firm.
Dougie is an active member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and the American Health Law Association. In his free time, Dougie enjoys stroller walks on the Monon with his wife and son. Dougie is a former collegiate Division One tennis player and avid golfer. He previously made a hole-in-one at the Dye Course at French Lick and enjoys golf photography.
