About Sue

L. Sue Andersen has been practicing law since 1980 and has extensive experience in Medicare and Medicaid payment and policy matters. Sue partners with health care entities, providing them with legal counsel and guidance as they navigate the complex reimbursement and group appeals process.

Sue began her career as a legal services attorney representing Colorado residents in Medicaid eligibility and payment issues and litigated many of these issues in state and federal courts. As an Associate Professor of Clinical Law at the George Washington University Law School, Sue started their Health Law Clinic, supervising law students who represented Washington, D.C. residents in a variety of Medicare and Medicaid eligibility and payment matters. While employed at a national health insurance provider, Sue represented Medicare contractors before the Provider Reimbursement Review Board and in 2012 was appointed to serve as a Board Member and later as Board Chair by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
