About Sean
Sean Fahey is a health care and estate planning attorney who advises assisted living and skilled nursing providers, health care foundations, families and business owners on regulatory, operational and planning matters.
Sean works at the intersection of health care operations, philanthropy and long-term planning. His practice spans two closely related areas: helping long-term care providers navigate complex federal and state regulatory requirements, and helping individuals, families and nonprofit organizations plan for the responsible stewardship of assets across generations.
Sean’s practice includes:
- Advising assisted living and skilled nursing providers on CMS and state regulatory compliance, including admission agreements, discharge planning and Medicaid reimbursement;
- Counseling health care foundations on planned giving, charitable giving, gift agreements and UPMIFA compliance;
- Designing estate plans, trust structures and succession strategies for individuals, families and business owners; and
- Providing compliance training and in-service education for long-term care facility leadership and staff.
Sean regularly presents nationally and regionally on long-term care regulatory issues and has served on legal committees for national long-term care associations. He is Board Certified as an Indiana Trust and Estate Lawyer by the Trust and Estate Specialty Board.
