Speaking Engagement

Event: Healthcare Law & Compliance Institute

[02/27/2022]

Synopsis:

One Big Happy Family: Holding Space and Creating Opportunities for Diversity Among Us
Most healthcare organizations agree that a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture drive employee engagement, productivity, and outcomes, however, many still struggle to find the right combination of activities that will result in sustainable change. In the light of the pandemic and various social justice movements, Diversity & Inclusion needs a new lens; it needs to move from the theoretical to the practical. Strategies for diversity and inclusion initiatives need to be rooted in data and people analytics so that proposals, investments, and outcomes can gain leadership, employee, and stakeholder buy-in.

This unique session will invite you to explore:

  • What comes first: Adding diverse talent? Or creating an inclusive environment?
  • What does it mean to create an inclusive environment?
  • Discuss the top 5 qualities of an inclusive environment
  • Propose action steps to disrupt the Noah’s Ark approach to DEI and actually create a culture of inclusion
  • What is the general counsel’s role in promoting/ensuring an inclusive environment?
  • Practical tips on how to hold the organization accountable to ensure the maintenance of the inclusive environment
