Effective Nursing Home Compliance Programs – NEW 2024 SNF OIG Guidance

Session will review key regulations and identify key practices to create and maintain an effective compliance and ethics skilled nursing facility compliance and ethics programs. In November 2024, OIG released pages and pages of Skilled Nursing Facility Compliance Program Guidance specific and focused on nursing home health care providers. Session will review key features of that guidance from the nursing home perspective. This OIG guidance revises its 2000 and 2008 memos “OIG Supplemental Compliance Program Guidance for Nursing Facilities.” Session will cover any updates OIG memo and identify OIG and CMS stated key elements and practices to building and maintaining a highly effective SNF compliance program, including the importance of a compliance program work plan and an annual review process.
