Medical Liability and Health Care Law

[03/21/2013 - 10:15-11:10 AM]

Synopsis:

Litigating a “Never Event” Case

<br>

Medical “never events” are presumptively preventable outcomes in the health care setting, such as the unintended retention of a foreign object following surgery, a stage III of IV pressure ulcer acquired at a health care facility, surgery performed on the wrong body part or a fall/trauma. In this presentation, Ms. Fox will address the challenges presented by a never event lawsuit in both the acute care and long-term care settings, and provide practical techniques to mitigate and overcome those difficulties.
