Property Tax and Exemption Issues for Non-Profit Health Systems

Non-Profit Health Systems have traditionally benefitted from tax exempt status at the federal, state, and local levels.  In recent years, taxing authorities around the country have been challenging and revoking the exempt status of non-profits for a variety of reasons.  This session will provide an overview of the latest trends in the exemption battles, strategies to stay in “compliance” with exemption criteria, and how to reduce the impact of property tax expenses if the exemption is revoked.
