- Ochsner Health broke ground on a new 343K-sf freestanding children’s hospital that will be located on the Ochsner Medical Center campus in New Orleans.
- HealthPartners received approval to move forward with a new $400M Lakeview Hospital campus in Stillwater, MN. The project will include a 400K-sf hospital building on a 64-acre campus.
- Penn Medicine broke ground on a new $224M proton therapy center at its Presbyterian Medical Center in University City, PA. This will be Penn Medicine’s fourth proton therapy location, designed to bolster the organization’s system-wide approach to comprehensive cancer care.
- Lifepoint Health and Ascension Saint Thomas received approval to build a new $91M, 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Rutherford County, TN. The hospital will be a joint venture operating as Saint Thomas Rutherford Rehabilitation Hospital.
- In an interesting turn of events, an online auction to sell the iconic 1.1M-sf Ziggurat building and its 92-acre campus in Laguna Niguel, CA, has been cancelled by its owner, the U.S. General Services Administration. Prior to the cancellation of the auction, Hoag Memorial Hospital was announced as the winning bidder after a legal challenge.
- A New York real estate developer made a $16.25M bid on a number of properties that were once operated by Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Immediate plans for the properties haven’t been announced. Hahnemann closed its doors in 2019 due to financial challenges.
