About David
David Yanda is a health care attorney who advises hospitals and health systems on Medicare reimbursement, health care compliance and regulatory matters.
David brings a unique, disciplined approach to his legal work, informed by his prior service in the United States Military as a Korean Cryptologic Linguist. He works with health care organizations to understand complex regulatory requirements, evaluate potential risks and develop practical strategies to address challenges.
David’s practice includes:
- Assisting hospitals and health systems with Medicare payment policy, reimbursement strategy and wage index issues;
- Supporting providers on Medicare Geographic Classification Review Board reclassifications, urban-to-rural redesignations and the acquisition and maintenance of special provider designations, including Rural Referral Center and Sole Community Hospital status;
- Advising health care providers on fraud and abuse and regulatory compliance matters involving the False Claims Act, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute and Civil Monetary Penalties Law; and
- Representing health care organizations in government investigations and enforcement actions involving the Office of Inspector General, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and U.S. Department of Justice.
Before joining Hall Render, David served for six years in the United States Air Force as a Korean Cryptologic Linguist. David is a descendant of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and was raised on the Oneida Reservation.
