About Carla

Carla Johnson focuses her legal practice in the area of real estate. Carla has 15 years of experience advising owners and users of real estate in the acquisition, disposition, development and leasing of health care, industrial, office, retail and multifamily properties throughout the United States.

Carla is licensed in the states of Tennessee, Georgia and Indiana where she previously practiced at Am Law 100 and 200 firms. Most recently, Carla served as an Executive Director and Associate General Counsel for Indiana’s largest health care system. In this role, she spearheaded the strategic and operational execution of the real estate transactions, leasing, property management, tenant improvements, engineering and space planning for 17 million square feet of leased and owned assets. Prior to 2022, Carla served as the health system’s first dedicated in-house counsel for its real estate department.

Carla leverages her legal and real estate experience by serving nonprofit boards and committees, including the United Way Capital Funds Committee, and lives out her passion for the next generation by mentoring law students. Carla enjoys line dancing, hosting game nights for her family and friends, volunteering at her church and vacationing anywhere with a beach and warm weather.
