About Jane Francis
Jane Francis Nowell is a health care transactions attorney who represents hospitals, health systems and physician groups in complex mergers, acquisitions and strategic transactions.
She advises clients through all phases of the transaction lifecycle, including structuring, due diligence, negotiation and closing, with a focus on delivering practical, business-oriented guidance to support her clients’ operational and strategic goals. Jane Francis also counsels clients on corporate governance, entity structuring and regulatory considerations that impact health care transactions.
Jane Francis’s practice includes:
- Representing clients in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures;
- Conducting due diligence and negotiating definitive transaction agreements;
- Advising on corporate governance and entity structuring matters; and
- Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including operating, buy-sell and service agreements.
Prior to joining the firm, Jane Francis practiced corporate law at a regional firm, representing clients in mergers and acquisitions and general business matters across multiple industries, including health care, construction and manufacturing. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Chris Dillon of the North Carolina Court of Appeals and as a legal intern with the North Carolina State Health Plan.
