Jennifer (Jen) Viegas serves the entire spectrum of the health care supply chain, providing strategic counsel on supply chain procurement and operations.

Hall Render’s Supply Chain Service Line supports a wide array of entities within the health care supply chain, including hospitals and health systems, group purchasing organizations (“GPOs”), collaboratives, distributors and pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Jen helps health care organizations optimize supply chain performance while managing the legal, regulatory and operational risks that accompany complex procurement decisions. She counsels hospitals, health systems, suppliers and other health care industry participants on sourcing strategies, vendor relationships, contracting and compliance matters.

Her work increasingly includes assessing risks associated with artificial intelligence, data security, business continuity, technology-enabled medical products and critical vendor relationships. By aligning legal, procurement and operational priorities, Jen helps clients improve efficiency, strengthen organizational resilience and support critical business objectives across the supply chain, including lowering overall costs, while still achieving high quality, better outcomes and mitigating corresponding legal risks.

More specifically, Jen’s practice includes:

• Counseling on strategic supplier and vendor partnerships and large-scale supply chain transactions;
• Drafting, advising on the regulatory risks and negotiating complex purchasing, distribution and management services agreements and transactions;
• Developing and supporting operations for self-owned GPOs and collaboratives;
• Supporting RFP initiatives, including developing material terms, evaluating submissions and negotiating bids;
• Advising on compliance and emerging risks related to technology-enabled medical devices and supply chain innovation; and
• Collaborating with legal and business teams on value stream mapping exercises to identify opportunities to drive efficiency within the organization’s supply chain.

Additionally, Jen holds several leadership positions at the Firm. She serves as the Practice Group Leader of the Health Operations Practice Group as well as the Vice President of Business Development and Chair of Hall Render’s Business Development Committee. She is also a member of the Firm’s Vetting and Investment Policy Committees. Outside of work, Jen enjoys traveling with her husband and two children, basketball, photography, flower arranging and playing tennis.
