About Julie
Julie Lappas is a Shareholder in the firm’s Indianapolis office and Co-Leader of the firm’s Clinical Integration and Managed Care Service Line. She focuses her practice on counseling pharmacies, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), hospitals and provider-sponsored health plans on a wide range of pharmacy, PBM and managed care matters.
Prior to joining Hall Render, Julie served as in-house legal counsel to a large, national pharmacy benefit manager. She leverages this experience to provide clients with sophisticated advice related to negotiating and managing relationships with PBMs, including negotiating complex pharmacy, PBM and PSAO agreements; advising on drug pricing, reimbursement and billing matters; analyzing PBM-driven medication adherence, prescription drug discount and coupon programs; advising on state PBM and prescription drug discount card licensure and reporting requirements; and providing practical counsel on related fraud and abuse matters. Julie’s managed care practice includes assisting hospitals, health systems and other providers on a wide range of managed care issues, including payor contracting and related disputes, value-based payment models, direct to employer contracting arrangements and participation in Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D.
Julie is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School and worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative prior to beginning her legal career. In her free time, Julie enjoys live music and traveling with her husband and three young sons.
