About Lawrence

Larry Coon is a health care transactional attorney who advises hospitals and health systems on business, governance and strategic matters supporting growth and long‑term relationships.

With nearly four decades of experience, Larry works closely with in‑house counsel and executive leadership to navigate complex acquisitions, joint ventures and other transformational transactions. His background as a CPA and former outside associate general counsel allows him to deliver practical, business‑focused guidance on high‑stakes initiatives.

Larry’s practice includes:

  • Advising on hospital and health system acquisitions and divestitures;
  • Structuring joint ventures, strategic affiliations and key business relationships;
  • Supporting governance, board and organizational matters; and
  • Collaborating with in‑house legal teams to efficiently manage complex transactions and other business initiatives.

Larry serves as the office managing partner of Hall Render’s Milwaukee office. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2007 and has been named Lawyer of the Year for Health Care Law in Milwaukee. Larry is also a certified public accountant, and he and his wife have three grown sons with young families.
