About Scott
Scott Taebel is a health care compliance attorney who helps providers nationwide address complex regulatory issues, government investigations and enforcement risks involving False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law concerns.
Scott advises health care organizations on a wide range of compliance and enforcement matters. He regularly works with providers to identify and address potential compliance risks, respond to government scrutiny and develop strategies to resolve regulatory concerns.
Scott’s practice includes:
- Representing providers in government investigations and enforcement matters involving false claims, Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law issues;
- Coordinating internal investigations under attorney-client privilege and advising compliance officers, executives and boards on complex compliance concerns;
- Assisting clients with self-disclosures to the Office of Inspector General and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, including matters involving overpayments and potential regulatory violations; and
- Counseling health care organizations on corporate compliance programs, including program development, effectiveness reviews, training and matters related to corporate integrity agreements.
Scott has submitted more than 200 self-disclosures to OIG and CMS on behalf of health care providers. He frequently writes and presents on health care compliance topics and previously argued a Medicare reimbursement appeal before the United States Supreme Court.
