About Wyatt
Wyatt Poer is a health care attorney who provides strategic payment and compliance advice to hospitals, health systems and other health care entities.
Working at the intersection of reimbursement strategy, compliance and operational optimization, he helps providers structure their operations to meet the shifting rules of government-sponsored and private health care programs. Wyatt also draws on prior experience in internal audit and risk management, where he managed multinational audit engagements and partnered with executives and board committees to understand organizational risk.
Wyatt's practice includes:
- Advising on federal surprise billing rules under the No Surprises Act;
- Navigating provider-based billing requirements;
- Evaluating state scope-of-practice rules that affect reimbursement for non-physician practitioners; and
- Identifying compliance risks and strengthening internal processes.
With a passion for health equity, Wyatt is driven by the opportunity to help clients expand access to care and improve health outcomes in the communities they serve. Outside of work, he enjoys being an uncle, hanging out with his Boston Terrier and attending performances of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
