Private Equity Deal Spotlight | Weekly Update

Health care continues to drive private equity activity, creating opportunities for investors and traditional health care providers. Transactions in the health care space are especially complicated, layering health care regulatory and reimbursement considerations on top of a complex securities, antitrust, privacy and security framework.

1. PE firm Hildred Capital Management has extended its ownership of Crown Laboratories and Hyland’s Naturals by closing its first continuation fund at $750M. The funding might also be used for acquisitions by either or both companies. Hildred is optimistic about the consumer health care sector, including over-the-counter products.
2. Ingersoll Rand, Inc. has agreed to acquire ILC Dover from New Mountain Capital, LLC for approximately $2.3B. ILC Dover designs and produces innovative solutions for biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and medical device markets as well as the space industry. Ingersoll Rand plans to establish an associated life sciences platform with approximately $700M in revenue.
3. Midwest-based PE firm Monument MicroCap Partners has closed a transaction with Tampa-based Champion Wellness Centers. Champion specializes in comprehensive chiropractic services and offers seven wellness centers and an eighth multidisciplinary clinic. Champion continues to expand its presence in Florida.
4. Beacon Behavioral Partners has acquired The Neuropsychiatry & TMS Group, a mental health provider in Tampa. This is Beacon’s first partnership in Florida. The Neuropsychiatry & TMS Group specializes in treatment for depression, ADHD, dementia and brain injuries.
