Chris Eades is a health care attorney who focuses his practice on medical staff governance, credentialing and peer review matters, as well as virtual care.
Chris leads the Firm’s medical staff and virtual care operations, advising health systems, hospitals and providers on complex clinical and operational matters. Clients rely on Chris to assist in the development and drafting of medical staff bylaws, policies and procedures, as well as to provide practical, solutions-oriented guidance on day-to-day medical staff and virtual care issues.
Chris’s practice includes:
- Counseling on medical staff governance, credentialing and peer review matters within related legal and accreditation frameworks;
- Drafting and implementing medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and related policies, including ongoing and focused professional practice evaluation and other quality review processes;
- Facilitating system-level efficiencies through alignment of governing documents, credentialing processes and peer review sharing;
- Leveraging peer review privilege, as well as implementation and interplay with Patient Safety Organization participation and related work product protections;
- Addressing and implementing delegated credentialing processes, NCQA compliance and audit preparation;
- Advising on professional conduct, clinical competency, impairment and corrective action matters;
- Representing hospitals and medical staffs in peer review investigations, hearings and related proceedings; and
- Supporting the design, implementation and regulatory compliance of virtual care programs, including telemedicine workflows, licensure, scope of practice, informed consent and related professional practice considerations.
In addition, Chris works with health care organizations across the country to provide on-site education of medical staff and virtual care stakeholders, regularly presenting at industry conference and providing medical staff leadership training and “bootcamps.”
