About Erin
Erin Drummy is a nationally recognized health care regulatory and transactional attorney who advises hospitals, health systems, physicians and health care businesses on complex business arrangements, compliance matters and strategic alignment.
Her practice focuses on state and federal regulatory strategy, including corporate practice of medicine, physician compensation, fraud and abuse compliance and value‑based care arrangements, and she regularly counsels clients on transactions leveraging her deep regulatory expertise to carefully align with health care regulatory, enrollment and reimbursement requirements. Erin works with a broad range of providers and stakeholders, including ambulatory surgery centers, physician‑owned hospitals, pharmacies, pharmacy benefit managers, ancillary service providers and private equity portfolio companies.
Erin’s practice includes:
- Advising on compliance with fraud and abuse laws, including Stark Law, the Anti‑Kickback Statute and the False Claims Act, Eliminating Kickbacks in Recovery Act and their state laws counterparts, as well as fee splitting and corporate practice of medicine laws;
- Structuring business ventures, including complex mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, contractual joint ventures, strategic alliances and value‑based enterprise arrangements;
- Designing and reviewing physician compensation models and contracts and management services arrangements;
- Serving as outside general counsel to physician groups and other providers; and
- Representing providers in internal investigations and regulatory self‑disclosures.
Erin co‑leads Hall Render’s Value‑Based Care Service Line and serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams and boards. Prior to rejoining Hall Render, she served as chief legal officer for a national physician group. Before practicing law, she worked as a registered respiratory therapist for a national Catholic health care system.
