About Kiera
Kiera Gauthier is a health care transactional and regulatory attorney who collaborates with health care providers and organizations on the structuring, negotiation, and implementation of a broad range of strategic health care transactions.
Working closely with health care organizations, Kiera helps clients navigate complex regulatory requirements and structure transactions and business arrangements to advance their strategic objectives while managing legal and operational risk. She brings experience advising clients on transactions ranging from acquisitions and joint ventures to physician alignment arrangements and entity formations.
Kiera’s practice includes:
- Advising hospitals and health care providers on acquisitions and other strategic transactions, including asset and stock purchases, member substitutions, joint ventures, clinical affiliations and management service arrangements;
- Forming health care entities and preparing governance documents;
- Leading transactional diligence efforts and managing regulatory approvals; and
- Counseling hospitals, physicians, physician groups and other health care organizations on compliance with the Anti-Kickback Statute, physician self-referral law (Stark Law), HIPAA, corporate practice of medicine laws and licensure requirements.
Before joining Hall Render, Kiera worked in-house for a large regional health system and in private practice representing health care providers, giving her a broad perspective on the health care industry and its legal and business challenges. Kiera is a triple Buckeye, having earned her bachelor’s degree, Master of Health Administration and Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University. While in law school, she was a managing editor for the Ohio State Technology Law Journal. Outside of work, Kiera enjoys mountain activities, traveling and live music.
