Candidates should have: outstanding academic credentials, including a minimum GPA of 3.0, preferred; a dedicated interest in health law; maturity; and motivation to succeed. Full-time rising 2L students, as well as dual degree and part-time law students graduating in 2028 or later, will be considered.
Law students are given Summer Associate offers by Firm location. However, Summer Associates will have the opportunity to work with attorneys in each office and across all five practice groups: Health Economics, Health Human Resources, Health Operations, Health Regulatory and Health Transactions. Summer Associates work independently and collaboratively with attorneys throughout the Firm’s offices and receive real client experience and projects throughout the summer. Because Summer Associates are not assigned to any one practice group or group of attorneys in the Firm, Summer Associates have the opportunity to solicit and receive work across many different specialty areas within health law and in which the Firm’s attorneys practice. Our Summer Associates routinely help attorneys and clients in the health care industry in areas including but not limited to: business transactions, joint ventures, health care regulatory issues, operational matters, litigation, health information systems, compliance, licensing, tax, antitrust, managed care, reimbursement, medical staff relations, tax-exempt matters, patient care, HIPAA, supply chain negotiations, real estate and construction, labor and employment issues, and more.
Applications will be accepted and considered on a rolling basis from Friday, June 19, 2026 until Monday, July 6, 2026, or until the position is filled. To apply, please submit a resume, cover letter addressed to Laura Dettinger, Director of Recruiting, and an unofficial copy of your law school transcript, which includes spring semester grades.
Applicants must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States without restriction. At this time, Hall Render is unable to provide immigration sponsorship (i.e. H-1B, Permanent Residency).
Hall Render was founded on a tradition of excellence, has never wavered from this tradition, and continues to search for ways to raise its own standard.
