Private Equity Deal Spotlight | Weekly Update

Health care continues to drive private equity (“PE”) activity, creating opportunities for investors and traditional health care providers. Transactions in the health care space are especially complicated, layering health care regulatory and reimbursement considerations on top of a complex securities, antitrust, privacy and security framework.

Hall Render’s PE team of attorneys and advisors leverage the strength and depth of our bench to navigate and efficiently execute PE transactions. The summary below includes highlights of recent PE deals and legislative updates.

  • ARCHIMED recently acquired Irrimax Corporation, a Lawrenceville, Georgia-based leader in anti-microbial wound care solutions. Irrimax produces several wound care products, including Irrisept, which is used for the cleansing and removal of debris, dirt and microorganisms from wounds. ARCHIMED, a global PE firm situated in, or focused on the health care sector, completed the transaction through its MED Platform II Fund. The MED Platform has invested in a total of five health care-focused platform companies.
  • VION Biosciences, a platform company focused on specialty materials in life science research, diagnostic and drug discovery sectors, recently acquired Ansh Labs. Ansh Labs is a biotechnology company that completes the development, production and distribution of immunoassay kits and reagents for research purposes. VION Biosciences is part of Iron Path Capital’s roll-up platform in the life sciences sector. Iron Path Capital is a PE firm based in Avon, Connecticut.
  • Revelstoke Capital Partners announced a growth investment in MediQuant, LLC. MediQuant is a market leader in cloud-based data archiving and interoperability solutions for over 1,100 hospitals and health systems throughout the U.S. Revelstoke Capital is a Denver, Colorado-based PE firm that focuses on building companies in the health care services, health care technology and health and wellness markets.
