Life Sciences Attorney

Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman is the nation’s largest law firm focused on matters specific to health care and life sciences organizations. Hall Render is seeking a Life Sciences Attorney with at least 7 years of experience to join our Health Operations Practice Group. This position is open to any office, with remote work flexibility possible depending on qualifications and experience.

We’re Looking for:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in good standing in at least one U.S. Jurisdiction (additional state licenses a plus).
  • A minimum of 7 years of legal practice, with substantial experience in human subject research and the regulatory frameworks governing clinical trials.
  • Strong understanding of the operational workflows involved in clinical trial execution, including investigator site management, subject enrollment, and regulatory documentation.
  • Deep knowledge of FDA and HHS clinical trial regulations and overall regulatory landscape, HIPAA (especially in the context of data sharing for research), and clinical research compliance.
  • Strong skills in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating research-related contracts, including Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and Data Use Agreements (DUAs).
  • Experience advising or working with Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and Human Research Protection Programs (HRPPs), including human subject protection policies, procedures, and ethical considerations.
  • Skilled in reviewing informed consent forms and HIPAA Authorizations for compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of privacy and security considerations related to wearables, mobile health apps, and other digital health technologies used in clinical research is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with research misconduct investigations, including regulatory reporting obligations and institutional procedures.
  • Experience with animal research is not required but may be considered.
  • No book of business required to apply.
