The health care compliance landscape continues to evolve as federal agencies refine enforcement priorities, regulatory requirements and expectations for health care organizations. For compliance teams and in-house counsel, keeping pace requires more than knowing what changed—it requires understanding where regulators are focusing their attention and what those developments mean operationally.

This session will examine significant health care compliance and regulatory developments from 2026, emerging enforcement trends and issues organizations should be watching as they prepare for the year ahead. The discussion will translate key developments into practical considerations for compliance programs, organizational risk assessments and day-to-day operations.

This session will walk through the legal and operational considerations that arise when potential research misconduct is identified. Attendees will learn how organizations can prepare for and respond to allegations, navigate internal inquiries and investigations, manage reporting and regulatory obligations, and address related issues involving whistleblowers, research records, confidentiality and institutional risk.

This session will examine what providers should consider before, during and after terminating a payor contract. The discussion will address contractual requirements, reimbursement and claims considerations, continuity-of-care obligations, patient communications and other practical issues that can arise when a provider moves out of network.

This session will provide a practical look at managing employee leave and accommodation requests in the health care workplace. Through common scenarios and best practices, attendees will explore how the ADA, FMLA and PWFA interact, where employers frequently encounter problems and how organizations can build more consistent and defensible leave-management practices.
